A Welcome Distraction

Hi everyone.

A quick post to wrap up our U.S shoot. Basically, I’m incredibly pleased with how everything went. Intense schedules often mean dropping things or settling for less but in our 19 day, 12 location shoot nothing got dropped and nothing got seriously compromised. I couldn’t be happier and my huge thanks go out to my partner in crime Joanne Donahoe-Beckwith for the long hours she put in behind the cameras. Since returning home Ros Walker and I have been preparing our Screen Australia funding submission and I hope to have good news on that front in the coming months.

Editing continues (albeit slowly around making a living) but I did want to announce something cool at my projection home, The Sun Theatre in Yarraville. It’s now confirmed that we will be screening Quentin Tarantinos’ new retro opus, Once upon a time in Hollywood on 35mm. So it's out with the old and in with the new. August 8th will be our last regular monthly screening of the film that started all this, The Hateful Eight.

So thrilled to be continuing this Q.T film tradition starting August 15. Tickets on sale this week. If your local you’ll have one more opportunity to experience our magnificent Ultra Panavision 70 print of The Hateful Eight on August 8 at 8 p.m before the changing of the guard. Come along. It’ll be a huge night.
