Final filming block begins.

My apologies as it’s been a few months since my last post. Time away shooting in Timor-Leste and long projection hours with the Suns highly successful film seasons of Once upon a time in Hollywood and Joker have made large demands on my time.

However editing has progressed at a steady pace in the background and we’ve recently begun picking up some of the local dramatic and re enacted sequences that will finally complete shooting.

This is the glossy, ‘take some real time’ stuff I’ve had in my head for literally years now and I must say; it was really great to get the first one done.

Many cinematographers have picked up a camera for this film over the years when my director of photography, Joanne Donahoe couldn’t. But on this occasion Jo, Paul & myself were joined by talented Melbourne cinematographer, Con Filippidis which allowed two units to work simultaneously.

Such a great luxury and one that allowed us to capture everything I wanted to a level we all wanted to capture it at.

In other news our Screen Australia submission for post and completion funding has had some necessary pauses to get everything just so. Hoping to have some happy news on that front before Christmas.
